These 15 images will tell u what have made the covid-19 second wave in India more catastrophic!

No. 1 in surging Covid -19 cases and No. 3 in death rate India is now leading towards a catastrophic second wave. India now accounts for one in every six new global cases. Since April 3, India has been witnessing consistent massive surge in daily cases, surpassing the U.S. and Brazil. The last time India led the world in daily cases was during the first wave in September.

Apprehensions and panic also got its promotion this time, despite the complacent behavior in contradiction. The age profile of people getting infected with Covid-19 in the second wave remains mostly unchanged as compared to the first one last year, leaving senior citizens most at risk of dying. As 70% of those who have hospitalized in both the waves are 40 years and above. Much of a relief, the 2nd wave India’s fatality rate has remained low or stable against first wave, said doctors in charge of national Covid -19 management strategy.

"The two main causes are-when in Jan/Feb vaccination started and cases went down people stopped following COVID appropriate behaviour and at this time the virus mutated and it spread more rapidly," the AIIMS chief told ANI.

Political gatherings during election across the country has definitely made the situation even worse.voting was held for four states and one Union Territory in the period.

All these mass gatherings, whether it is religious, political or for marriages…people need to understand that this is not going to help them. On the contrary, it is going to get worse and worse,” Top virologist across warned.

Vaccine diplomacy and recurring elections and campaigns are beyond the required rationality.Conduct of religious ceremonies and election campaigns, debating with police officials who reiterated wearing mask for our safety, avoiding social distancing norm, ignoring masks and sanitizer to not imposing possible and much needed restrictions the country pulled itself towards the verge of a pitfall.

An expert recently said that while in the Western world the pandemic may be over by the end of 2021, in some Asian and other countries it may extend till 2022.
